Kayastha are not avarna, they are Varna Sankar and Savarna. Avarna themself are not Dalit as well, for instance, Gujjar, Rors, Tagas are all historically UC, and are well known for having raped Dalits even after untouchable movement.
A lot of Avarna have lost their Varna over course of history unlike subbos who never were part of Varna chain.
