Ranghar is a term denoted to the Muslim rajputs of Haryana. Though earlier, it was used for both Muslim as well as Hindu rajputs, but now it is mostly used for Muslim rajputs only. To my knowledge, the Ranghar Rajput community primarily traces their origins to contemporary Haryana (and adjacent regions in western UP such as Saharanpur/Meerut, alongside Alwar in NE Rajasthan). A majority migrated to West Punjab (Pakistan) during partition, similar to other Muslim tribes/castes from Haryana which formed roughly 30% of the total population at the time. After partition I think Ranghars of pakistan lost their wealth and status as they were not merchants like khatris. They were Feudal warriors which honestly do not have that much use in a Republic.
Ranghars pre partition were very powerful, implemented draconian policies like kola puujan and cavalry raids on Non Rajput hindus. There were many villages where Hindu and muslim rajputs lived in harmony
