Bollywood went through phases yaar. If i remember correctly lots of sindhis because they got ack'd from their land and reached India, then came age of bengalis probably the peak of bollywood culture then came punjabi age with all those gandfad noises which they call music and pretty much also the time of their downfall.
Funnily enough their biggest star was a gangu Amitabh bachchan, then Srk and among new ages nobody matters.
