Opinions on Electric AVs?

But won't those electric tanks need to charged, and charged several times more often than an ICE one needs to be refueled, because energy densities of contemporary modern batteries are hillariously smol pp compared to fossil fuels.
Also powerbanks don't materialize out of thin air, they'll need to be transported too. And those powerbanks themselves need to be charged, which will require massive generators guzzling diesel, miles behind the front so they don't get raped by Artillery... So you just end up having to use fossil fuels either way. This will nightmarishly complicate logistics yet has no advantages to even name.
Srsly tf do these vets smoke yaar...
Insanely long charging periods also used to be an argument, but I've seen modern EVs that get 80% charged in less than 20 minutes, so I'll ignore that one.

imagine driving an Electric Ev in peak fluctuating temperatures of thar desert

>inb4 live on the conquered land's grid
They can just cut it off.
>inb4 connect yours to it
1, That'd take a long long time.
2, Static electric lines stretched across several KMs will be easy prey to airstrikes and even artillery.

Uhh isn't the ev explosions thing overblown saar?

Electric Tanks will remain a fantasy until LiO2 batteries are perfected and can be made safe.
Hybrids sound like a good idea tho, go on electric power when you need to be stealthy from LRADs. Would be quite useful on assembly areas for armoured formations.

Petrol/diesel-electric drives might also be a good idea due to their superior performance but they are really complex, just look at the shit Porsche made in WW2.

i am talking about performance ignoring the explosion part.
it's lithium it will explode. it's not like they are going to get road for driving.
indian army focues on the amphibious ops of the IFVs etc. imagine using lithium batteries for those kek.

Why would performance be worse? Electric motors are just plain better than ICEs,
instant torque, instant acceleration, silent so the enemy won't hear your diesel roaring from miles away...
Is it something with the batteries?
My argument was entirely from a logistical pov, if in future these problems could be mitigated with mammoth energy densities batteries, it'd be retarded to stick to ICE AVs.
>>395580
Why would that be a problem in an electric AV? If amphibious capable they are practically sealed from any leak ins. Or am I missing something.

Batteries yaaraa. Temperature in desert fluctuates.
Even gold plated imports like javelin failed the trials in thar due to the temperature. Though it's not same as battery issue just an example.

What if they don't. What if there's some leakage or whatever. so many thigns can happen

Yaar modern AFV hulls are designed protect the insides from fucking NBC threats, do you think they can't stop water form getting in? They are not shitty T34s with welds done by a dyspraxic vodka addict.
And if a tiny amount of water does seep in the batteries can just be coated with insulators. And if you're imagining the entire hull filling up with water... yea, your amphibious, whether electric or gas, has already taken a dive..

And? How significant is the decrease in power output?

Any anon of relevant field here? How far are batteries with >10000Wh/kg energy densities?
