I was refering to subnationalism based on language and culture not state kanging necessarily. I know states dont always correspond to cultural realities. You still dont see many braj, purvanchal or bhojpur nationalists. You mostly see them kanging about being jat gujjar brahmin yadav bhumihar etc day in and day out online. Even their politics is so influenced by cáste. They have had history of (indian) riots smthing which is unheard of outside ganguland. Non gangus like me know more about gorillion (indian)s in your region than your languages or culture bcz thats just what we hear from y'all. OTOH others like punjabis, pahadis, dogras, marathis, tamils, bengalis etc too have their own (indian)s yet they arent that vocal about it and mostly kang on ethnicity and language.

these regions were always united under some rule. dravidian identity, shivaji identity, ranjit singh identity and so on. they have a sense of unity for different reasons. coming to languages, all states except rajasthan have their languages in the 22 lang list. tamil bengali punjabi yada yada.
awadhi braj khadi are just dialects of hindi which is infact a shame given how rich the literature in awadhi and braj is and how khadi is basically the origin of modern hindi. there are many factors anon.

Not really. Gangu politics are smthing else man. Bahujans voting in Samajvadis to get gibs, lalu working for interest of his own (indian) electorate at expense of others, this shit is different. Other states, at least mine, dont have such internal power struggles between cástes that hampers development. Just learning about all the cáste based massacres that happened in UP Bihar was horrifying enough for me. No such thing has ever happened in my region. Thats when i realised how deeply entrenched cáste is there. I used to think movies were making exaggerations.
