Arabs arent a very intelligent people. Without oil they would pretty much be desert nomads. Despite so much wealth, their output in science is nil. Arabs just do overpaid government jobs while engineering is outsourced to foreign companies. Even islamic golden age was for the most part was translating and storing in libraries other peoples' works like indian mathematicians, the chinese, persians and greeks. Islamic golden age stood on shoulders of persian and andalus/iberian muslim scholars not arabs.
