difference in how women are treated here is actually shocking.

In India it never mattered what I wore.

Jeans. Kurti. Oversized hoodie. Fully covered. Doesn’t matter.

You still get stared at.

You still get comments.

You still get men looking at you like you owe them something.

I remember constantly adjusting my clothes. Pulling my dupatta. Checking if my top was too short. Feeling guilty just for existing in my own body.

And the worst part

If something happened people would instantly ask

What were you wearing

Why were you out

Why were you alone

Like somehow harassment is always the woman’s fault.

It makes you angry. Then tired. Then numb.

Now I am in Russia.

I see girls wearing shorts, crop tops, dresses, whatever they want. I do the same. And guess what.

No one cares.

No staring. No comments. No creepy looks following you down the street. Men mind their own business. I walk alone and feel safe.

I am not scared of existing here.

And that realization hurts.

Because it made me understand how much we normalize harassment back home. How we teach girls to adjust instead of teaching men to behave.

People love saying India is about culture and values but what kind of culture makes women feel unsafe in daylight.

I am not saying Russia is perfect. Every country has problems. But the basic respect here feels unreal to me.

I can breathe.

I dont feel like my clothes are a crime anymore.

And honestly it makes me angry that I had to leave my own country to feel this normal.

Before anyone comes at me yes I know not all men. But enough men. Enough to make millions of girls afraid every single day.

I am just tired of pretending this is normal.

If you are a girl reading this and you feel the same rage you are not crazy. You are not overreacting. You are just done tolerating bullshit.
