yup, you know what, sometime ago I read an article by a demography and sociologist, who wrote about how demograohic data sets in countries like India, are often exaggerated, so basically the actual population, TFR etc are lesser than the available numbers, based on my own research, I think Indians TFR is already around 1.7 or 1.8, it is even lower in urban areas, and this is true across religious and (indian) groups btw, NFHS data shows this.
Just look around even majdoors nowadays barely have 2 kids.
