Indian states that you believe should be renamed or further divided.

Because you find current names not as appealing or historical, or because you believe state boundaries dont represent actual cultural divisions.

>as per me

Madhya Pradesh --> renamed to Malwa

Uttar Pradesh---> Should be divided into Braj and Awadh states

Bhojpur---> a new state created by merging east up and bhojpuri parts of bihar

Bihar---> should be divided into mithila and magadh

Jammu kashmir --> should be separate states

There could be a megagroup of states for cultural projects based on cultural maps.

>Jammu kashmir --> should be separate states

It might feel right thing at glance but it will hurt up. By seprating braj and awadh, east side wouldn't get benefits and funding UP gets from being a neighbor to a delhi. Bihar separtion doesn't feel necassary. Mithila and magadha are still more bihar than neighbor states.

Ofc we can view culture at micro or macro level but large states should only be further divided not merged as large populous states are bad for development.

Same for J&K, Jammu balances the Kashmir demographics and politics. Jammu for reference has seen bjp while kashmir others.

Ofc it shouldnt happen overnight. Ideally, gradual transition should me made. A major city should be picked as capital and developed before granting complete starehood. Braj can have meerut as capital, awadh can have lucknow, bhojpur can have a new capital. Others can suggest a city for capital.

Kashmir can be made a UT if you are that paranoid. Separation wont do much. Its still part of indian union. Its the jammu people who suffer from kashmiri political dominance.

As many and as small as possible. Make the metro independent as well (or atleast, give them much more anatomy)

Its not my job. It should be the biggest dream of up bihar people themselves if they want to develop like rest of india. Mayawati had tried to get trifurcation of UP done but she failed because apparently UP people want to be poor forever. Biharis also show such poor initiative. The states that separated from them are doing so much better- uttarakhand and jharkhand.

Too many states it seems. Could lead to too much burden on central government having to deal with so many state governments. I think states with low or modest population can be left as they are. UP bihar are too populous tho. They need to be trifurcated for sure.

Thats not how things work. Bureaucracy exists in pyramidal structure. You will still need chief ministers at top to coordinate all those autonomus municipalities. Besides, there are rural areas too to look after. The only other alternative is to go completely federal.

Get rid of the inbreds seperating us Rajputs from Broms and you have a deal. Make the corridor to seperate Shudra from Untouchables so we all do not have to stay in touch with them.

Are those even real divisions? There have to be natural borders or they will just be artificial inorganic divisions.

Yes. Malabar-Kerala and Conga-East divide is real. Malabar and rest of Kerala existed as seperate states for centuries leading to many cultural differences.

Tamil Nadu otoh was relatively united have differences between East and West leading to stark cultural differences.

North and South Karnataka is similar to Kerala as they were seperate states for centuries.

Well every state has internal divisions. No completely homogenous state exists. We need to decide how large of a difference warrants division. Gujarat, for example, consists of kutch, saurashtra and ahmedabad region. Uttarakhand has garhwal kumaon divide. Punjab has majha, doab, malwa divide. Tho i do see a north south karnatka divide at least as you said, going by population density map.

Not feudal; it's delegated federation. Municipalities should run maintaince and service while higher level administration hace more long term responsibility.
