One thing I do not understand is why do retards use GCC compiler on windows? Visual Studio IDE, the build tools, all of it is literally free.
all you need is visual studio build tools with desktop development on C++ workload + vscode to get started.
earlier you had to manually create developer environment by starting vscode developer cmd, but now they have added the whole thing as an option in vscode command pallette, just click it.

writinga simple build.bat is far more simpler than build.sh on loonix terminal cuz with vscode you can automate the whole process by writing json (tasks + launch) files, build and debug from vscode itself.
Also visual C++ debugger is vastly superior to gdb.

sirs that is optional, writing tasks.json and launch.json is part of vscode build system if you want to automate running buil.bat and the executable, it is few lines of boiler plate shit, write once copy paste every where else.
if you do not like that and want full IDE experience, where you press a button to build and run, hust install visual studio IDE instead of vscode

also, there's not much difference between loonix and windows anymore these days, except from a few very specific software, anything can run without much effort in setting up.

Learning c for concepts and in ms is fine as long as you will not be into embedded/system programming. Else setup ubuntu in vm and start from there. In actual corpo your code will sit in ubuntu vm which you will access through lundos. And rarely you will use windows for coding/building/deploying. Compiler will not be gcc it will be clang. If you go down this road it's good to learn linux.
