Is there a reason why Chennai is colder than Delhi and Bombay in March? I thought this period was Agni Nakshatram or something. Is summer in Chennai really colder than spring in North/West India?

...which is why i am asking you guys. I know chennai is a lot more humid than delhi (which makes a diff of even 1 C less feel noticeably colder), but doesn't mumbai have even higher humidity? how is most of India warmer then?
also, this isn't temporary. i've been seein this since Feb
