Vedic religion doesn't care about it tbh, so it boils down to how you view it socially. Vedas existed in time when homosexuality is not addressed so it is more lenient about homosexuality than the smritis are. मैथुनं तु समासेव्य पुंसि योषिति वा द्विजः ।
गोयानेऽप्सु दिवा चैव सवासाः स्नानमाचरेत् ॥ ११.१७४ ॥
If a twice-born man commits an unnatural sexual act with a male, or has intercourse with a woman in an ox-cart, in water, or during the daytime, he should bathe with his clothes on as expiation.

Striking a Brahmana, smelling what should not be smelled (such as intoxicants), deceitfulness, and sexual intercourse with a man are declared to cause loss of (indian)/status.
