I am relatively well off than most people but not enough to go to US for undergrad sirs, I might go abroad after graduation, let's see what happens.
If I make into CMI, joining NYU Courant Institute of Mathematics or Princeton could be relatively easy, as many professors there have strong ties to ISI and CMI, one of them, Manjul Bhargava from Princeton is a literal fields medalist.

if you get into an Ivy League for undergrad, depending on how rich/poor you are they heavily subsidize your fees, going up to 100% in some cases. Same goes for Ivy-adjacent colleges like MIT/Stanford etc.
i would know, i had an acceptance from an Ivy to study physics with a huge scholarship
