Our aim is to first create a database of timelapse images from existing datasets and then design an automatic lineage tracking algorithm.

You can think of the tracking task as being somewhat analogous to tracking cars in a video. However, unlike cars, cells can divide over time, producing daughter cells, which adds a layer of complexity to the tracking process.

I know some Master's students in a European country working on something very similar for their thesis, I'd say it's a great project to work on if you're in undergrad
