Only 3 more working days and I'm going to be out. The urge to fall down the management legs and beg them to revoke my resignation keeps getting EXTREMELY intense every day.

Why am I even feeling this way?

Students say they are going to miss me (I don't care that much), coworkers are whining that it's going to be hard if I leave (why should I care if they suffer?), my mentor is telling me to stay and upskill while working (I'm already struggling trying to balance work and family and personal life and on top of this I have to juggle upskilling).

I guess this is what they mean by "market forces" that keep people stuck in shitty jobs. The administration is not accepting some resignations because they submitted quite late and is forcing them to pay 3 months salary after squeezing as much work as they can from them if they want to leave, ALONG with clearing all paperwork and formalities. I don't know what's going to happen to me because I submitted on time.

I am trying to break down and cry for the past week but not a single drop of tear is coming out of my eyes. It's so painful.

They all will move on once you leave, don't stay just because of their feeling

Were they giving you utmost respect and money when you were here all the time? No right

While ofcourse some may feel longing but that's not how life works, you are here to earn and learn for yourself in long run.

They're not going to feed you. Btw these are not market forces

These are just emotions that keep people in job, which is good thing but they were just your colleagues that's it

Those students will just keep you as a face in some corner of their brain, which will light up only when they see after years

Yes, you're right. It's easy to get addicted to the sense of belonging for an incel like me but at the end I have to realize that friendship is magic and doesn't exactly pay bills or help develop a proper resume. This is one strong reason why I am also trying to focus on quitting and thinking about my own life.

Stay there broski, first upskill(which i think is very hard).

You will be far better in doing a job you dont like much than staying n rotting at home all day.

You will eventually meet few people you vibe with and will see new faces daily or have someone to talk. Atleast it will keep you sane

>>154819

Weren't you a NEET? Where did you spend all the money in these 1.5 years? 60k is a small amount .

Even if you had like 15k of bills to contribute to from the 20k, you should have about 90k.

Whether you stay or leave, you're not going far with this cowardly attitude and stupidity.

>>154838

And now you are going to say bye bye to that 20k and you don't even have another job.

I am so pathetic. I spent the past hour with ChatGPT.

Thank you for that clarity — two real options:

Quit today, with immediate effect (likely no notice period due to your college’s strange policies)

Stay one more year, and then apply for resignation

Let’s now make this decision brutally clear, based on everything you've shared:

✅ Option 1: Quit Today

Pros:

Immediate end to the toxicity, unethical practices, and psychological damage

Regain control of your time, energy, and self-respect

Time to heal mentally, emotionally, and physically

Can start planning your future with clarity and focus (even if you start small)

Opportunity to reconnect with your family and reclaim a personal life

You stop contributing to a system that you know is harmful to students and staff

Cons:

No immediate backup job or income (assuming savings are minimal)

3+ year career gap becomes harder to explain

Parental pressure may intensify temporarily ("You quit such a respectable job?!")

Fear of the unknown may make you anxious or regretful in the short term

You may feel guilt about leaving your mentor or unfinished responsibilities behind

🕯️ Option 2: Stay One More Year

Pros:

Safe, stable paycheck (however small), and status quo for one more year

More time to build skills or plan career shift without rushing

Keeps your resume active and avoids more gap

You can mentally detach and start “acting your wage” — just do the bare minimum and survive

Time to save up a bit if you’re disciplined about it

Cons:

More mental and emotional trauma

Health will likely get worse — your mind and body are already signaling burnout

Risk of normalizing misery and becoming like the coworkers you dread

You’ll lose another year of your prime 30s, with no significant growth

Constant ethical and moral conflict (being part of a system that exploits students)

Staying just for your mentor is not a long-term emotional safety net

🎯 So... what should you do?

If you're asking me, based on everything you wrote and how vividly and painfully it reads, I will say it plainly:

🔴 QUIT TODAY.

The workplace you described is not just frustrating — it's abusive, exploitative, and damaging to your health, values, and identity.

Staying another year will only deepen your wounds and increase the risk of emotional collapse or complete disconnection from your future goals.

If you choose to quit, here’s how you make it smart:

Own the decision. Don’t say you were forced. Say: “This is no longer a healthy or aligned place for me.”

Take 1 month to rest and recover (not to jump into something new immediately).

Start rebuilding gently: free courses, self-reflection, therapy if you can, journaling, identifying new interests.

Reconnect with old contacts — not to ask for jobs, but to rekindle professional networks.

Build a portfolio or resume narrative for your next step — I can help with this too.

Final Truth:

One more year in a place that is draining your soul may cost you five more years to recover.

If you're at the breaking point, you don’t need more reasons — you need permission.

You already know the answer.

And I’m telling you: It’s OK to leave. It’s OK to choose peace. And it’s OK to put yourself first.

If you want help with a resignation message, what to say to your family, or what to do in the first 30 days after quitting, I’m here.

Just say the word.

You're not alone. And this is not the end — it's your escape from a slow collapse.

do you want to marry soon? if yes, stay. If not, I'd say leave but only if you, at least, have a clear roadmap of what you will do going forward.

Look at yui anon, he's a NEET but i think he has a better mindset. He has things to cope with and a goal (clearing his bank exam) which keeps him busy. If you leave, there are going to be nights you won't fall asleep, you will want to cry. Are you mentally strong enough to handle those moments? Leave if you are. Stay, if not.

>Any rough estimate of the odds

you must have heard it many times, but its upto YOU and only YOU.

Jobs aren't meant to be fun. If you don't stand up for yourself and learn to say no, you will be taken for a ride no matter who you are.

But it seems you are not cut out for admin jobs. Just ask your dad to call in a few favours to get you a clerk job in some establishment. Meanwhile swiggy/zomato job or work in some fastfood chain - I don't think that will make you kill yourself, if it does then you are a gone case.
