I'm looking at discussions elsewhere like linkedin, reddit, etc. and it's looking quite grim for someone in their 30s to make it into the hamster wheel. Ageism, exploitation, low wages, lack of proper qualifications (when I did engineering there was no such thing as AI / ML / DBA / etc.) and so on. Feeling hopeless again, just like how I felt a year ago.
Also, I hated my previous job and I wish I would never step foot ever again at an engineering college as a wagie ever again.

i wonder what it's like to be in your 30s, in 20s it feels like there's nothing i can't do - i mean there is but most things i like i feel i can achieve - i wonder if it withers away with age.

No, I see it differently.
It feels like you can do anything because you probably haven't really tried it in the first place. Experience helps. The more you try the more you start to loathe some things, feel unimpressed by it, see others and don't want to be like them, etc. etc. This is what schools are supposed to do but nanhajeets spend their prime grinding meme exams instead of figuring out their personality and interests.
This comes with experience and probably through artistic expression, I don't know. As you age, you don't change as much as you become who you truly are deep down.
