Casteism is an outdated, feudal system and will naturally wither away in favor of ethno nationalism as capitalism and modern lifestyles become more common, as similar systems did in other parts of the world. UCs are less casteist because most of them live modern, westernized lifestyles whereas that doesnt apply to LCs

This depends on the state i believe.
Southern regions for example have reduced casteism significantly among the younger generations, and grifters have moved on to ethnciity/language kanging instead.
This will be more beneficial for them in the long run, as ethno-linguistic nationalism is just a more fitting ideology for the modern age, unlike the outdated, feudal casteism. The poorer regions of the country will remain caste kanging till eternity, stewing in their own misery, poverty, and fighting over scraps till the end of time while others advance far beyond them.

Based on my observations (i only speak for my state):

Castes that are similar in everything else except for varna like UCs (similar in social status, education, wealth, culture, ethnicity and genetics) are intermarrying nowadays. These groups have everything in common except for varna but since professions have become too diverse in modern economy, there has been a breakdown in varna division the only variable that separated them.

Untouchability is no longer existent but relationships especially marriage is avoided with them. Marrying one results in gossip but social boycott is inexistent. Marrying an ST is acceptable tho.
