Could be FP due to insufficient data gathered from ground stations and satellite imagery. Not like they would put too much effort and resources into monitoring the AQI of some random uninhabited desert.

Air quality in North India is bad because
a) Farmbhangis burning crops after harvest
b) The Himalayas traps the air in the region
It was already in a terrible starting position and add typical pajeet behaviour, things get 100 times worse.
