Refugees from West Punjab are dispersed all across India, The Punjabis are the refugees of the partition and were settled by the government of India hence they all settled in community which were exclusively built for them part of the relocation plan, they speak the Punjabi language amongst themselves

Most punjabi refugees were khatris. They are an urban mercantile community so they chose to settle in urban areas post migration.
