Privileges for shudras in scriptures

Surely there must be some privileges for Shudras in hindu scriptures
Some advantages of being a Shudra over a dwija
For eg I read Shudras aren't forbidden from eating meat for taste unlike dwijas
Surely there are other examples like this

shudras can work in exchange for money, no other caste can do so in reality.

yeah it is true, brahmins were supposed to live on alms and donation, and for the most part of history this was true.
my own ancestors were given some land and 2 cows by the zamindar raja of my ancestral village, my great grandfather was priest and a sanskrit grammar academic, with time things changed.
my grandfather was the first person in my family to hold a government job.
vaishyas could only earn a livelihood through trade, kshatriyas through military service.
you see in hindu religion artha doesn't just mean money, that is a very crude term for it, actually it means earning a livelihood through the method sanctioned for your varna.

it was a ujjaynia rajput dynasty, they were patrons of local brahmin families, my family was one of them.

some might think that this sort of thing, where only shudras were allowed to work for money sound ridiculous don't really understand pre industrial revolution history, there weren't that many jobs, economic mobility was pretty much non existant because of zero dynamism, this was 90% of human history.

My Shudra great great grandfather ran from his village to try and get an education tbh, I heard from my father that we were doing quiet badly in our varna job but after education under british system we prospered somewhat by getting jobs

education was pointless for most of history, 99.9% of jobs had nothing to do with education, this is why even many kings were illiterate.
"education" back then was mostly a religious thing - learning the scriptures.
this is something most people simply do not understand, even during British Raj education wasn't that attractive until much later on, when they established pan india bureaucracy.

for most of history, religion (veda, purana etc) was passed down orally, writing wasn't popular because before printing press, it was a very tiresome process, and indian climate was hostile to any sort of leaf writing or whatever.

the family you are talking about lived in a post industrial world, where reading and writing became beneficial.
in british census, most Indians across castes were illiterate.
even in 2025, educated people are more likely to be unemployed, and as per surveys most "educated" school students can barely read pr write, this is true even in US.

There are no "scriptures" in Hinduism.

Fact is the definition of "education" has varied through out history.
In medieval age, education was whatever knowledge and trade you were passed down from your family, son of a farmer learned farming, son of retailer learned the business, son of a priest learned the scriptures and rituals etc.
during later half of british raj, it became synonymous with english education + government job, that thing is still alive.

there are, depending upon what exactly ypu are refering to, hinduism is an all catching term, religious beliefs and rituals of pagan indians, for most of history though, they were passed down orally.

Yes, scripture implies writings which historically is one of the most flawed ways of transmitting information.
