Just finished Frankenstein with Jacob Elrodi. Such an amazing movie. 4/5. Never expected it to blow me this bad. I expected a corny humans are the monsters all along poor wee woo Frankenstein is a baby with a man body kind of shit with the one from the black and white movie kind of sappy story featuring Frankenstein drowing a little girl but it was something on another level. The whole movie was amazing and was completely unpredictable till the end. I think Gothic Fiction is one if not the best genre to exist. The cinematography, the set pieces, the aesthetics, the acting, the ambience, everything. Do watch it guys. It'll win at least an oscar for sure.

They'd rather stick to capeshit and sitcom shit which is low risks medium rewards. I can see the effort, budget, risk, investment and gamble that went into making this happen, and it sure paid off. Looks like it's not okay among those who read the books though.
Maybe I'll read the book in future, where the creature is actually a morally grey person and not like innocent baby nurtured into doing bad things impulsively.

Yeah, the idea of telling both sides of the story in two chapters and then merging in the end was pure kino.

Watch better movies rakulcel. It was boring and very uneventful. They wanted you to pity the monster for some reason when it actually killed the girl in the book. Even Nosferatu was better.

They whitewashed the creature in the movie yaar. He didn't kill the woman or the little girl in this movie. He killed maybe 6 total in self defense. Nobody asked a fucked up creature like him to be born (like me) so felt a bit painful at times and relatable.
Btw... check out my top 3 of 2025

1st one is a about fucked up monster, 2nd one is a schizo with post partum depression, 3rd one is a schizo anticorpo ayy lmao believer.
I guess I have to watch Nosferatu but I found the first 10 minutes super boring.
