today while returning home after eating double egg chicken roll, i had to take a detour because the main road was jammed due to some truck accident. i had to pass by a part of the city i used to live in as a child, but moved away from a long time ago.
nostalgia hit me like a truck. all those shops, all those areas i used to visit with my little Hero Sun Dancer cycle, the shops where i used to buy lattoos and gulels(slingshots), i saw it all. the roads were better, but the shops were all the same. except for one.
my favourite shop, the playstation. that's literally what me and my friends called it. it would have 7-8 monitors lined up next to each other, all linked to consoles. cheat codes were written on a plain A4 sheet and taped to the wall.
we would go there on our cycles, and play games for 30rupees/hr. they had PS2s & PS3s, i think. i was in 4th-7th grade.
man i played a lot. GTA SA, GTA 5, Tekken 5, Tekken 6, Contra, and a bunch of other games i don't even know the name of. it was so beautiful. Heihachi was my favourite.
it had closed down.
i asked the shop right beside it why it did, they said the owners weren't even making enough for daily bread. i understood. but it still hurt. a huge part of my childhood just gone, nowhere to be found. i think it was the only one in my city.

Brutal, after a long time I visited this place, there used to be a bookstore...the place had entirely changed.
The roards were leveled higher, another conjob of failures which are municipalities. Shop was there, but place had changed, changed so much that i felt completely out of place - the mental image I had of the place was too stark, too alien to bear with reality.
Anyway that was the last time i visited that place.
