No. Most turks were voluntary converts barring initial tribes who were conquered by arabs. Later waves of turks like khawarzmiens, seljuqs, timurids etc. were all voluntary converts and themselves ruled over arabs. Islam really suited their lifestyle of pillaging sedentary cultures. They could do all that and get ticket to heaven because it counted as jihad against infidels. They continued their forbidden practices like eating horse meat, drinking blood and alcohol and other muslims excused their behaviour because in their eyes turks were contributing immensely to jihad.
