Kinda skimmed through the battle portions of his wiki, looks like he fell for a typical feigned retreat in the 2nd battle... that wouldn't have happened had he not taken Ghori's words of a truce for much and didn't neglect intel and scouting, also if had a more professional and disciplined force they wouldn't try to pursue like andhe bhangis, a coordinated counter attack would've worked, can't find any trustworthy sources for numbers but seems like most of his army was optimized for close quarters combat and didn't have much coordinated missile support assets, even light cavalry would've helped. Technological and cultural mismatch also seem to be reasons, but less prominent.... Overall, seems like a typical bhangi meeting his end due to his overconfidence.
As for letting Ghori go, I don't believe that, no one can be that stupid, even the Samurais would execute captured enemy commanders or maybe let em commit sepuku. Maybe he just managed to retreat, that'd explain why Chauhan was over eager to pursue Ghori's retreating divisions in the 2nd battle.

Why so obsessed with prithvi raj chauhan? He won a lot of wars and lost one. If u think he is the reason muslims exist in india ur a clown. Don't rope in him with you , he was a kshatriya whose khokhar allies killed ghori later.

I was not. Someone made a post against him, I corrected him and his bs info. He was a good king who lost one battle due to his general bhimsen not arriving in time and falling for turkic feigned retreat.
