Im not a very staunch hindu, but hinduism is so philisphically and ideologically better plus it has so much freedom so much school of thoughts that you can literally allign with any school as per your mood and current scenario

Al-Biruni (11th century) writes in his Kitab al-Hind that educated Hindus (elites/Brahmins) were largely monotheistic, rejecting idols. They believed in one eternal God, without beginning or end, and free will, while the masses engaged in superstitious polytheistic practices and idol worship (murti puja), this is a deviation from pure truth.
In my opinion, educated Hindus (elites/Brahmins) invented religion, castu system, astrology, etc. to basically control the masses.
