I was tracking metro lite projects - apparently UP had plans for i think gorakhpur, prayagraj, varanasi but none of them worked out. they should do that too.

I don't think it will succeed, it will be encroached by homeless people and street food vendors and some shop owners to keep their extra stocks and their signboards like they did with the cycle tracks that were built by previous Akhilesh yadav govt.

Man just came back from kanpur metro it was such a soul aggravating experience you get to travel in ac without any heckling from e-rickshawala and the constant honking of pajeet drivers with zero iota of driving sense plus the dust and ruble you have to face on street daily.
I just wish every city in India a large network of urban mobility infrastructure.
