I finally finished FF3 this morning. It was imo the weakest of the NES trilogy. The spell charge system and the story was overall a step back from ff2; while the job system was fun, it's still quite unbalanced. The final stretch with the crystal tower was as much of a drag as I've heard it was. I played the pixel remaster version, and I can only imagine how brutal it must have been on the NES with no saves or heals in between all that. Still, overall, it's an ok game, especially for the time it came out.

I have played FFX and FFX-2 also played a little FF7(original). Got stuck at the last boss in FFX as I did not grind hard enough and am currently playing FFX-2 (it's a fun game aimed more towards teenage girls but boys can enjoy it too). Should I play the old games, I have heard that 6 is one of the best in the series

Excellent game actually with design, music and pallette that was really ahead of its time. Funny that their are dedicated games like curse of the moon on switch but mobile and Android didn't continue legacy of such side scrolling games, the way GBA or GBC would have.

I played but didn't finish 6 years ago, when I was young and retarded to understand RPGs too well. I'm going to play through all of them shortly now, so I'll let you know my thoughs then.
The playstation era of FF are the ones I have the most memory with. Of them, I recommend tactics the most. It's very hard but rewarding. It even got a remaster on PC recently.

Another game I played when I was a kid. Only beat it because I was abusing save state with emulator like a bitch kek.
I brought a bunch of castlevania collection on steam sale earlier so I will probably play them at one point for achivements.

Last best: Super Metroid
Unfortunately couldn't get Samus underwear ending :( Finished under 10 hours and got a thumsup
It still holds well as a metroidvania even to this day, even if the controls are a little wobbly.
