i genuinely don't get it. i've tried gi, wuwa, blue archive, azure lane and every other main games there are in the market. they all felt like waifu/husbando bait, except some of them had decent animation & music. is it just a fan service people play these kinds of games for? other than that, i don't see the point

If you don't see the point then don't play it.
The point of a good game is to enjoy it. The point of a gacha is micro transaction, so people will be more willing to pay for progress rather than the game. As far as the games themself go, they all are fun based on how fun the gameplay is. But the core point of gacha is to leech on money of idiots.

Yaar it eats away at franchise. Like although I am not the biggest fan of it, fatefans from the past all are right seeing how the franchise is just a machine for fgo revenue generation.
