Well this is a very messed up case.
David headley (half paki half american) had given them intel about routes and structure of taj hotel, etc.
✡️ Jewish chabad house was also attacked, but the locals from that area claim that people inside were partying and celebrating during the attack.
Information about this has been scrubbed off the internet, but you can find it in obscure youtube videos or blogs.
The terrorists arrived on boats and used the same water route as dawoods D Company drug smuggling business. Maybe police knew that D Company was using those areas and D Company had given them some money to overlook any suspicious activity going on in those areas.
When the attack happened, two police constables were told to hold a checkpoint and they were given AKs. But they got scared and ran away.
Then 3 other police officers (i think it was hemant karkare with his squad) arrived at that checkpoint thinking that it was clear, but turns out that terrorists had already reached there, and they killed 3 of our officers by just spawncamping.

Videogames with a PvP is full of trained players who have been doing this on a frequent basis. If you compare this to GTA NPC's where police will take forever to show up, most of us could go as far as stacking a four digit body count, by the end of day.
