This kind of shit is taught in School History. Hindi WAS supposed to be the NATIONAL LANGUAGE but a gulti fasted unto death and then all hell broke lose. People were more language conscious (and that's a good thing) and refused to unify under a single language.

My social science teacher back in class 8th was a raging chuddie. He taught our nanhe-munne shote impressionable minds that the National Anthem was originally written to praise the Britisher madarchod, namely George the V, and how Vande Matram should've been our national anthem instead.
In school assembly, when national anthem played he would frantically pace back and forth in one place instead of standing at attention while angrily squeezing his fists.
