USSR sent man to space in 1961

USA sent a man to space in 1961

China sent a man to space in 2003.

India has sent a man to space in ........ Oh wait. Rakesh Sharma doesn't count because he was a pajeet hitchhiking on a Soviet rocket. Gaganyaan was supposed to happen in 2025 but it has got delayed.

>apple and oranges

There are only 4 countries who landed anything on moon in 21st century, India was 2nd country to do so. USA failed so many attempts while India landed in just second try.

In fact sending humans to space is very low bar, give it 10 years some Indian private space flight company can do it.

>Gaganyaan was supposed to happen in 2025 but it has got delayed.

Will be 2026 or 2027 for Indians.

In fact the technology for our own space station was already tested through Spadex.

>pic related

Hilarious thing is none of the trainsets in the pic are chinese, and india has 99% track electrified while china has only 75%. Indian HSR will rollout next year or after.

Even when kanging on china you guys fall in pathetic manner.

If getting humans to space is so easy why is india more than 20 years late compared to chinks? Getting a human to space is a million times more difficult than getting a rover to moon or taking pictures.

Man you guys are so low iq it hurts to respond. It's just about priorities and budget. It is more worthwhile that ISRO invests in next gen jet engines etc. develops entire stack, sends probes around the planet instead of a joyride.

At best it's a side project of a main isro missions. Lots of isro fans had big criticism about the human space program due to this, yes it catches eyes of normies but the scientific outputs are minimal unless you invest in further stack, push for space station, moon base etc.

I'm not even going to argue with inbred faggots like you. How is ISRO even responsible for jet engines ? The main aim of space travel is to send humans to space and try to colonise other planets as a backup of something happens to earth. How do you build space station or a moon based without sending humans to space first?

>r jet engines

That's an obvious typo, i am talking about semicryo higher thrust engines.

>The main aim of space travel is to send humans to space and try to colonise other planets as a backup of something happens to earth. How do you build space station or a moon based without sending humans to space first?

You are not even aware of ISRO's mission. First of its requirements are to meet the demands for the Indian public, constellations etc. To sustain these it will need better rockets, engines, then based on these capabilities it can push the research boundaries for planets like Mars, Venus or visit Moon for experience.

All of these are part of the major missions which serve till we reach the point where Moon base etc. can be done. While you are doing the previous process you can achieve the capability by modifying your rocket for human space flight, and that's exactly what ISRO did with GSLV, it's not a new rocket just regular one modified for the joyride. It's not a big deal.

TLDR; joyrides or even joy landings like Apollo are not same as sustained presence on extraterrestrial planets.

You can achieve previous two if the goal is just to flex but for later you will have to create series of innovations and the path for those innovations goes through slightly more longer routes and in between that process is just one step which can be done so which is joyride.

If isro's sole mission was human space flight it could have started as soon as the GSLV development concluded.

This is what retards don't understand.

Ok. I hope gaganyaan (whenever it happens) doesn't have any issues.being only the 4th country to send man to space is a big deal.

What benefit does it give to send some random jeet into space for ISRO to prioritize that over more economically rewarding missions?

Trve, hence why SOVs abandoned their moon landing program after the Americunts landed there, the only point of the moon landing was a symbolic political victory.

It will be indeed cool but the scientific output or even how much Indians benefit from it would be limited. One benefit can be that more interest will or may lead to further increase in budget.

ISRO's earlier priority was to get HLVs using sce2000 rocket engine and then even ULV (depricated) and then aim for human space flight. And while it meant to do those it could have heavier satellitess, constellations like NAVIC.

With focus on humanspaceflight, the other projects kind of suffered. This is one of the major criticism against this project. But i guess if you have started then get it done.

This is why SpaceX starship is way more significant and look at how many billions they are burning over it, iirc it's almost $2bn usd per year and that's equivalent to entire annual budget for the isro.

Still it feels bad to call Saturn V and apollo as joyride so please redact it from my side, but the underlining is same that it was too costly and unsustainable for long term.

There will be two uncrewed development flights, maybe third one if required. G1, G2 and G3 (maybe). Both are to be done in 2026 if all goes well. 2027 may be the year for our own way to space.

I can ask the same question to mangalyaan and chandrayaan. How did Indians benefit from those programs exactly? Sometimes, there is no straight answer. You have to do difficult things to prove your technical prowess.
