I study German from time to time to refresh my grammar. But I have already finished studying it and can filter aka competitively use it to get a job in any German speaking country.
Won't learn Chinese because even Chinese know its a useless and badly designed language.
Same with Japanese.
Other than that I'm planning on creating a new (secret) language which will be used in the upcoming human (Indo-Aryan) vs Machine war.

Very long for vocabulary, not so long for grammar (about 2-3 months for grammar). I spent 30 min every day studying flash cards for like 5+ years mostly because I had to (re)take many exams in German. My vocabulary now is bigger than that of your average German university student in 2026.I can read complex wordcel texts (from wordcelling authors like Nietzsche and Spengler) without having to look things up.
And I can easily filter into a native conversation even in Swiss German. Which is what my goal was anyway.
Most important part is the grammar , if you get that down you can string together everything else and just need to memorize vocabulary. Learning a language without a goal in mind is pointless though - it only makes sense if you use it for something, otherwise you will just forget it.

I think i remember talking to one anon who said he learnt russian then forgot it all.
Japanese is one language which i could learn but realize how useless it was for me so didn't bother.
Sanskrit is there but it's for sole personal autism and i don't really care much anymore about these.
Thinking of trying C# now. But now i don't even wanna do coding so idk.

More than 20% of my university is chinese, whether students, neighbours or professors. They suck at English unless they were born in the US and hence only talk in Chinese to each other.

Much higher salary in Switzerland/Austria/Liechtenstein.
I also took/passed the USMLEs but my scores weren't that great (which means high chances you end up in some retarded place like Ohio) so I didn't end up going there.

After learning the grammar you can do everything if you want to, you just have to look up words you don't understand. Which is way too much work while reading a text/watching a movie.
Also I realizerd most native speakers don't know their language that well. People in German speaking countries usually only study grammar/vocabulary 3-4 years and the rest of their schooling is just writing/reading texts.
And also met many people here from places like Poland,Romania,Italy,Greece who have completely broken/shitty German skills and they get by just fine - in fact if you have shitty language skills people will often talk less to you and expect less from you and it can be even a positive.
