There's a reason why Ramanand Sagar (the only Ramayana adaptation worth existing) worked. It was because the actors were unknown, and didn't have a "past", so to speak. Arun Govil had only acted in innocent village arthouse films before.
But these actors have a past. They have fucked, drunk, ate god knows what. Imagine Gandbeer Singh as Rama just after seeing his Animal.

Say what you want about the actors in this or tollywood but at least pic related didn't bother with rehashing the same story again and tried to adopt a part of Ramayana(Uttara Kanda) that's often neglected and controversial. Urduwood don't have the guts to do that.
