There's no non-government organization in India or probably in entire world with the level of ground network comparable to RSS. Opposition wishes they had RSS equivalent. BJP had to return to back to RSS and result was complete wipeout of opposition in 4 major states despite their 'comeback' in union elections.
Other than islamists and shitlibs everyone who sees the work that RSS guys do likes them. They are literally as evident sewaks of the society. I had a friend whose uncle was part of RSS, we used to donate them food etc. which he would distribute among people.

There's a perspective on it i have written in detail.
For a normal person the order should go around himself, family, relatives, his own community religion and then nation. This doesn't mean if he likes his family he has to hate others rather his degree of responsibility in that order and then find ways to link b/w different groups.
Like relationship with your family, your community and how you connect your community to other one due to our inherent closeness via religion and then our closeness with other outside groups through shared lineage / nation state ideas etc.
I don't go beyond nation state though in some cases do bat for humanity as a whole too. But we are not there yet.

Usually if you are in city caste other than probably those communities won't help much. But in villages it's good to have people of your community around.
Use your caste as a framework to build institutions and uplift people. I am against the idea of using identities to hate on others. Rather use identities to connect, build and grow - support.
In cities, literally people from other communities were more close to me, i barely met people from my own community so ig there's that.
