Imagine what will happen in gaganyaan. India is struggling to do what chinks managed to do In 2003. The funniest thing is when chandrayaan-2 failed, some jeets were blaming china saying they tampered with the codes.

This is bad. PSLV was our workhorse, two back to back failure, no FAC reports. They gave excuse of "slight manufacturing error" for last failure.

Atleast two major strategic satellites lost back to back. It will hurt drdo and our research setback can for an year or more.

The current admin has forced ISRO to go completely inward, not sharing data of failures etc. this is bad.

We need private players in the game asap. ISRO has degraded.

Usually after a failure ISRO forms something called Failure Analysis Committee (FAC or similar)

Competency doubts need to be raised on FAC, because after last failure they would have raised changes to be made. These clearly didn't work or created some other problem down the line.

But we all know how things work now at ISRO, no one bothers asking questions, if they do they might be cutoff, ISRO quietly buries these events like nothing happened

We will see science minister proceed like nothing big happened. Time to put head down accept there are problems, be transparent and fix them.

Newer chairman's are very much spoiled. They have public support. They are taking this for granted. IMO

People are forgetting that Modi is the minister for Department of Space and Jitendra Singh deputy. The question should be raised against these two on the culture they have created. https://x.com/gareebscientist/status/2010590789227954306[embed]

India will not have any private players that are even half as good as ISRO. America on the other hand has a lot aerospace companies who do both defence and space projects (like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Northrop grumman) . Most of the senior engineers in Spacex were hired from these companies. India just doesn't have the required talent pool in the private sector. Hiring TCS/Cognizant/Techmahindra bhangis to run a space program will ensure 100% failure.

Also, ISRO as an organisation will continue to exist regardless of failure or success. They do not have to fight the competition get awarded contracts like private companies. The ISRO chairman will go to sleep peacefully tonight knowing that his salary and pension will surely come.

You are wrong but we will discuss that later.

meanwhile

>zero tweet by Deputy minister of Department of Space

Same dude posts before ISRO and delays official publishing by isro to get limelight and tweet.

Currently in last two hours he has retweeted modi's tweet, some other topic nothing else on isro failure.

Modi has not even funded the replacement of the failures.

Modi and this guy are major part of the problem.

Last year we had two major failures

>NVS satellite which was important for constellation of NAVIC

satellite failed after placed in orbit

>PSLV - RISAT - 1b

same disaster, stage 3. No FAC report was released, it has become habit of ISRO to hide failures scuttle them and do not answer these.

For the record, first semi cryo engine of india has been produced by private players not ISRO. ISRO at the end is another sarkari organization.

Most of the payload aka satellites are going to come from private players, we will have launch of skyroot rocket as soon as within 3 months if all things go well we can see atleast one operational rocket by private company within this year. Agnikul is also not far off so another rocket by next year.

Once they get going, within 3 to 4 years we can expect them to reach PSLV tier capable rockets.

Also we are getting some version of our own ULA, which is through HAL, L&T etc. soon we will have completely privately manufactured rocket by these companies.

Currently even though ISRO produces PSLV it does get sub contracts to the private industry but soon it will be fully private - HAL and L&T making pslv rockets.

Now i am not sure if it's a possibility that some group in ISRO is not happy with this development because now the job is going to get cut off moving to private players. Sabotage is possible. ISRO tested third stage recently - static fire too.

No reports came other than one remark. ISRO at the end is sarkari body.

Modi and jitendra singh cannot be blamed for the failures of ISRO. One of the other issues is the education system. Barely any bright student wants to do mechanical/aerospace engineering. All the bright kids and top rankers in competitive exams do CSE. So in the end, you have a whole bunch of mechanical/aerospace graduates who did it only because they couldn't get a CSE seat in college.
