is anyone enjoying modern movies the way michael does in this gif? i guess there could be places i am unaware of where things are not as bad as where i live but i am having trouble to believe anyone would. i shake my head in genuine disappointment at the movie industry, actors and the entire financial background.

maybe if i wasn't convinced that it is a gigantic propaganda machine, restricted in all kinds of hard-to-see modern ways, i could give movies a chance but every time i did, it felt like a chore.

i don't think i am getting anything by watching a movie. the movie is not doing me a favor. in a culture that is undergoing digital training to treat attention like a currency, this feels like being tricked. this feels to much like being taken advantage of. they act like they do me a favor by making the film but i think by watching it, i am doing unskilled people a favor. no praise to the undignified amateurs who make million dollar movies, all the praise is do to the unfortunate people who were unlucky enough to watch it.

the exchange is unfair. when i watch the movie, they get +1 on their number but i don't get any +. it is +0 for me when i watch a movie. the people who made it are trash, their ideas are shallow and predictable.

when i click on a professionally made movie, i am doing the unskilled creators a favor by enduring their slop. i'd worry i contribute to the creators thinking they are good at making movies. everyone who works for the movie industry ideally would quit being leeches and contribute to humanity in a tangible way. if i watch a movie, i would feel like i would encourage actors and directors and the entire army of people behind movies to delay their decision to finally quit their harmful shit jobs so that this entire industry finally collapses.

i think having no ideas what so ever and instead just make endless repetition of comic book movies and nothing else is them admitting that they don't have it in them to tell interesting original stories.

movies are a relict of a time where nothing was happening. now there is stuff happening all day long. they come from an age of boredom, where all you had was books and crafts. how could you be bored today where there is instant access to anything.

IF I HAD THE MISFORTUNE NOW AND STUMBLE UPON A SITUATION IN WHICH I WOULD HAVE TO WATCH A MOVIE, I WOULD MOVE THE MOUSE EVERY 10 SECONDS TO MAKE THE SCROLLBAR APPEAR, JUST TO SEE HOW MUCH OF THIS SHIT IS LEFT 😆💩
i think i tried watching a bollywood movie once but i couldn't get into it. watching movie is so passive. at least in a video game there is some kind of interaction. movie feels like i just sit there, almost dead, letting life happen around me instead of participating.

what is frustrating to me is that movies in theory have the potential to be unbelievably amazing lifechanging experiences.
some movies are amazing.
seems like whenever something reaches the level of amazing, it attracts all the boring people and then drowns in them.
