i was in india once it was very nice

i was in india once as a computer teacher and it was very nice. i loved it. i was sad to leave. i wanted to stay longer. in retrospect i feel like an idiot for not asking if my job (who send me there for 10 days) would schedule my flight back for later so that i could stay longer after work, they would have done it, colleagues did this but i did not think of this. regretti.

they sent me to bangalore. at the time the euro was strong and it meant i could get an impressive meal in a good quality restaurant for 1/6th of the price that i would have paid for the cheapest meal in berlin.

for 6€ i could have bought a Döner Kebap to go, so no sitting down in a nice place to eat, just Döner in the hand, standing at the corner eating while standing like a bum.

i don't remember how much the price was in indian rupees but i remember that i was sitting down for a meal in a cozy restaurant that was not filled with tables and nothing else like the place i could buy Döner back in Berlin. i ate a meal of curries, rice and bhatura from a banana leaf. i would never eat this unhealthy today but back then i did. i tell you the price in a second.

it was exotic, tropical, alive. the place i was born and grew up in seemed like a black and white photograph in comparison. there were so many people working everywhere. every little store had like 10 employees. the people did not seem hurried or pressured. they weren't trying to be anywhere else. quiet dignity of people who are not trying to pressure me to do anything; which is the complete opposite of the place i was born in. this was hitting me as i sat in this restaurant. the absence of pressure on me to be anything.

so i was eating good food in a place of kind people that did not treat me like a slave for the first time in my life and the price they were asking for this meal was like 1,10€.

the difference in experience drives me crazy.

at home for 6€: eating my food standing up like i would swallow a pill for 6€ times the price, like i was a patient in a mental assylum for 6€

at this magical place for 1,10€: in the warm presence of humans who are not as rotten and evil as the people

the meal in the restaurant btw. was also made by the people in the restaurant. it was made. like a piece of art. the cook made everything. where i live, the meals are not made by skilled people who make everything local. they are produced somewhere where it is the cheapest and just the last step is made at the point of sale. only luxury restaurants would could afford the costly labour to make bread themselves.

i remember the slightly warmer effortlessly comfortable temperature of india as if nature was busy hugging me all day. the constant cold inflicts this constant little pain, just enough so you would never think of relaxing.

i didn't finish the sentence about the rotten and evil people here at home in contrast. i remember encountering one annoying street salesman in bangalore who tried me to buy a wooden snake by pretending he is my friend. this was awful but it was not the way of life of the people there. he was clearly hunting dumb tourists and i looked like one. i would not look like one today.

another little store lured me into by a skilled salesmen who also tried to be my friend a lot. i ended up buying little figurines for 10€ because i was so impressed by the experience and the communication ability of the salesman. today i would be too repulsed to even be near a person exhibiting this corrupt of a behavior. i have grown to levels of uncorruptability that my mere presence worries the corrupt people here. i don't even have to say anything, they can tell. they can tell i ignored any and all pressures of vaccination with ease while they crumbled.

but other then the annoying salesmen in bangalore, i would not encounter deceit and malevolence like that. i had the impression the people in bangalore were fine without me. they didn't need to extract wealth from me, they would not try to milk me like i was cattle, they way it is normal in germany. over here people they look at you intently and wonder how they can fuck you over for profit because that is how you get rich here. "how can you turn the people around me into slaves that generate passive income for me?" that is what the people have on their mind here. it is the colonizer disease, the people here also do this to themselves. even though i am sure this can be found underneath in the administrative processes in india, which i know nothing about, it did not seem that the people had this drive of corruption on their mind constantly, the way it is in Berlin.

"hurry hurry what do you want?" there is a line of 5 people behind you. "ok 1 Döner Kebap".

>takes the bread from the plastic trash bag where the bread is kept, opens it and puts it on a hot toaster for ~30 seconds

"first which sauce you want, tough guy?". the sauces are made in a factory from cheap rapeseed oil and they are sold to the Döner shop in closed plastic buckets. they take the sauce from the bucket and have the sauce in stainless steel gastronomical bowls where they scoop it out of.

there is

>garlic sauce (white color)

>herb sauce (light brown color)

>hot sauce (red color)

the degree to which this thing (Döner Kebap) is an engineered factory product is astounding. it was invented by a turkish imigrant in berlin who noticed that the germans are too hurried to sit in a restaurant.

this was right before smartphones were mass-adopted. i already had one, most people did not, which was a wonderful time i wish i could go back to. the omnipresence of technology has made everything i already disliked about germany culturally even worse. at this point technology disgusts me and i want to stay seperate from it as much as i can, though i watch videos all day and play video games still and watch video game content which is complete separation from reality.

you see i am not successful in my divorce from the digital world that is not real. the digital world has it's benefits but they also waste the finite life.

i play video games, which are not real. and then i care about people playing games and watch them play games and shit. which is even less real because i am not even active participant.

meanwhile outside it rains and the birds are chirping and i just stay inside my digital chicken coop. i am already what the establishment tries people to become and it is awful.

back then computers were still full of hope for me. i was still thinking they could be a tool of liberation. windows xp and windows 7 was so much less of a headache then the newer windows. now people are such prisoners, they keep using windows 11 which does not even secretly surveil the users, they now are public about it. they make screenshots of everything the windows 11 users are doing and phoning them home and the dumb people just do it. literal npcs.

"are you waiting for an extra invitation? what sauce you want?!"

>behind you people are getting angry at you for taking 10 seconds to decide. they moan loudly for you being stupid and not knowing. "this is unbelievable!" says one stupid guy behind you, trying to rush you.
