Indra Dev, and this is not something that I did due to Aryan status kanging. But I have always resonated with the deity who did his best despite odds being stacked against him. He had flaws and he grew from them. My favorite portrayal of him is Sahasraksha.

Isht deva/devi is found by learning who YOU spiritually and emotionally resonate with the most. No universal factor decides it for you except your mind and your soul.
It's one of very few things that one can choose to do with no external factors playing a part. Their are many deities in Hindu Pantheon ranging from Arayaman to Ashwani. You simply need to find which one you resonate with.
