Initial model is just a starting point, ex will introduce internal weapon bay and other 5th gen features.
Its not a full fledge stealth aircraft, it fits right between their f16 and f35.

I think what contributes to stealth is not design, but rather the radar absorbing paint formula.

both complement each other. RAM coating doesnt absorb 100% of the radar emissions. radars will still pick u up at longer ranges if the geometry of the plane is not stealthy

not completely, these both are utilized. one to absorb the radar waves or whatever you calling it, the design focuses on scattering the radar waves away.
RAM can take you only so far and based on F35C are affected worse during sea ops. DRDO has make one named adrishya you can find its pics.

No, don't follow aviation much but iirc a mock up was shown in 2021, last year Sukhoi said it is in final stages of completing a flight test prototype, that is what the thread is about... news came it'll be tested in early '26, so very soon... it was originally meant to be first flown in 2023, but sanctions made it difficult to import semiconductors and other electronic stuff they were buying from the EU.
