> linux has working desktop

> it has active development

> development slows down because little left to do

> finally when a new user uses linux it just works

> in fact if one de/wm works every wm/de works

> the THEY notice thing works too well so they introduce new thing

xorg is cringe and slow and doesnt work and spaghetti code and we will not do refactoring but instead make new thing. come to wayland it doesn't work but look at the development activity (because it doesnt work and has years of progress remaining)

> now the new thing does not work

> in fact the new thing isnt even a thing its a specification/protocol that needs to be implemented separately

> so if one wm has thing no idea if others do

> 0 desktop diversity because of the load of creating new thing

holy hell plasma, gnome all the big dogs take the wayland pill. but what if wayland actually happens? Oi vey we must stop this

> create development hell. any change must be over engineered and debated for no reason

> why like this and not that. why here and not there. just let the user set some environment variables and restart the prtals every 10 minutes

> create needless fighting over nothing

now the goy are behaving. we may rest

> literal child makes wayland window manager better than mainstream alternatives

> wayland so barely functions even after this meany years for anything outside of showing windows in a tiling pattern

> fighting uphill battle but fights nonetheless

oi vey too much progress. cancel this person. he is transphobic and all

now inevitably someone with clout outside tech circles like PewDiePie evangelises linux. more people try linux and no one can screenshare because wayland doesnt work. everyone goes back to proprietory garbage because linux is barely functional and their ZOG-OS used to

none of this would've happened if we just kept xorg

you see the movies would have you believe the way the THEM controls you is by being in power positions and you need to shoot them but it is actually by the distopea of beurocracy. they control you by asking questions. the most threatening thing you can do is just doing thing. no "why like this and not that". work in any direction threatens their control over you

honestly if you guys cant even decide what to use as a display manager (something which a normie dgaf about) then theres no hope of linux ever going mainstream

Wayland is already better than Xorg.

Linux will get automatically popular when there's option to get it by default while buying PCs and laptops.

No normie is creating a bootable pen drive and whatever

If the question is "what to use" it is xorg with either kde for complete desktop and dwm for minimal tiled experience. the entirety of wayland is a psyop and i hope it isnt too late to kill it. i have seen too many of my friends in college "switching to linux" or "ricing their distros" and pretends like their half functional hyprland system is cool because "it looks like that reddit subreddit" and uses colors that look good together and pretend like they couldnt do that with any other distro/wm or even windows

if the question is "what choices are presented to the end user" then yes we are fucked

>>1517

> Linux will get popular

this is a fucking issue. there is a giant psyop in our community. and with the pewdiepie video many people are coming over with their bootable pen. noone is getting a linux laptop when their own/nearby friends linux experience is so bad

of all the times in history now is quite possibly the worst time for linux to get popular. In the past there was no development level so it was great for the nerdy dev type people. then it got better and it was getting better for everyone. we had nearly solved the desktop problem and made incredible progress in the software availability problem. but suddenly "wayland and rust" and shit

this is quite possibly the worst time to get into linux. you are surrounded by all this "the tech literally exists" but nothing works because ideologically motivated jews feel threatened by actual progress and stalls any real work

>>1518

Yes. This is what i said. the jews saw a community who wasnt under their control and did a hostile takeover convincing people that the thing they can see is false. their eyes and logic deceive them etc. why the sudden push for wayland? and the push for rust? that was how they inserted this into the community

i wonder what you do on your laptop. gaming? anything with screenshare? multiple monitors? professional art that needs color profiles? scientific software that works with multiple windows? you can have a perfect system that works well by doing nothing and doing it well

Wayland is fine for gaming and scrensharing tho, I have done lots of that. Idk about scientific software.

Anyways it takes like 2clicks to switch btw Xorg and Wayland so I don't think it's that a big problem

Arch is never "stable"

It always rolls out updates as soon as one is out maybe with a delay of fee days

Because of that shit just breaks sometime

Also they once accidentally built a trojan horsed version of xz-utils unknowingly and distributed it in their repos

On Ubuntu 25.04 (non-LTS) rn and it's stable enough while also having the latest GNOME/KDE and coreutils
