Kangaroos are the national animals of Australia, yet they can be shot/poached/hunted for their meat or for amusement.
Let's say hypothetically, if animal hunting wasn't prohibited in India, I still believe that our sentiments would not allow us to legalize murdering our own national animal.
Would you be in favour of or against this specific proviso which exempts the hunting of our national animal if hunting of other animals was legal?

Let's say if the National animal was hathi Raja. Not tiger. Their population is fairly stable.
I'd still be against hunting them though.

If there were millions of elephants and causing nuisance then maybe Yes, I would have allowed hunting them.
Kangaroos are quite large in number and aren't hunted to such extent that they may face extinction

Ye bhi sahi baat hai yaara. Still though, even if our national animal was fairly common. I do not believe that we'd allow it to be hunted even if hunting other animlas was legal.

Hunting is subhuman activity. Big elephants of india were hunted to the point we don't see them around anymore.
