Nobody in the UK who meets her expects anything from her because they know/assume she is going to leave again. Now if she was actually a citizen: she would pay up to 45% income tax if she was a good earner , social security 8% , Sales Tax , insurance/health surcharges. Then having to rent a flat/home while never earning enough to own one , getting old alone, getting sick alone etc. This doesn't even include needing a place to live, paying extra for good neighbours, repairs for household items, time wasted cleaning up behind yourself which is done by a maid in India. Upper/Middle-Class people in India actually live like kings compared to Upper/Middle Class from Western countries. Ofc Indian families want their kids to succeed and not end up in a gutter or starting bad habits which will potentially doom the entire family. That's a good thing. Your family should want you to succeed and prevent you from failing. And if they check on who you hang out with that's again a good thing.
