atman - breath of life

when i first started reading spiritual texts, i encountered that the german verb 'breathing' comes from the old Sanskrit word 'Atman'.

breathing i think is very overlooked. when i first experimenting with different spiritual practices, breathing made the most noticeable difference in me. it is like a balloon shaped muscle inside. no doctor has ever informed me about the lifechanging importance of proper deep and slow breathing. it changes everything.

another way to describe this that makes sense to me is: the depth of the breath is the gatekeeper of health and happiness.

people who are depressed, express this depression through breath. people who are scared, express this depression through breath. people who are courageous breathe differently. another way of saying this is optimism has a different breathing pattern. happiness, excitement, arrousal, those are all going along with their own breathing pattern.

i think the lung does an important job in the personality of a person which is it translates the mood/attitude/feeling of the person (which is electrical) into physical reality. bloodflow, warmth, sensory ability, availability of energy, facial expressions. the lung unlocks or locks these. if you switch your body from full power to power-saving mode, this is done through breath, sometimes with the help of sub-conscious emotions.

i think it is possible to breathe yourself out of stress, sadness and sickness. too bad nobody knows.

highly recommended watching: this 40 minute documentary about a guy named Wim Hof who has experienced the power of not breathing on autopilot.

some people never breathe manually, the autopilot is breathing for them. i feel sorry for the autopilots. piloting means being able to pilot the lung, piloting the lung means being able to pilot your attitude and outlook on life. it gives the pilot root access to the human nervous system. with breathing you can choose your mood the way you pick out an outfit from your coat hanger in case nobody ever told you.

the other day i was in the library and there was a young man sitting next to me and his breathing was so short that i thought he might suffocate. like on the edge of suffication but self-inflicted through lack of management of the body. typical autopilot behavior.

when i first began to understand breath and noticed how other people around me breathe, i lost a lot of respect for them. i thought "wow look at how they breathe, they must be absent-minded idiots".

imagine signing a contract with the government that some hoe like that gets to legally rob you of half your money whenever she wants because she had sex with you twice 🤣

and she keeps tricking you into thinking there will be a third time.

this slowdown effect that breath can have is real.

i experience a similar slowdown effect when i am about to fall on my skates. time slows down, giving time to really whey all the options.

i once hit a pebble when i skated and i fell off and time slowed down and i decided to make a sonic-like rolling movement and i survived without hurting myself, falling at a speed where i could have injured myself badly or end up brain damaged.

if you want to be happier and more intelligent, you can just breathe deeper. doesn't cost anything. just some attention on the lung when convenient.

what's your lung doing. do you know? do you know at all times or just some of the times or never.

don't mind me asking, i can tell you that when i knew at all times, i was healthiest and happiest.

>Are you okay germananon?

what do you suggest to people that aren't ok? the reason i am asking is because i am betting you got nothing, no concept of health that you are living by successfully that you could draw experience from.

>It’s not healthy

how'd you know? i don't think you would know.

if you insist of representing health, go a little further even and describe what it is and how you believe you get there.

>to be posting on niche dead sites

doesn't seem that dead to me anymore since i started posting.

>and def not healthy talking to yourself

what's with the pessimism? you only got 10 more minutes to live or why is only the worst possible perspective worth mentioning to you?

i have been thinking this for a while, i think i have to bring it down to a lower level for you.... i don't know how you guys are like. it seems like most of you can barely type 2 sentences and i am guessing this is how much information you are able to even parse at any given time.

so i write these long posts but they are way too complicated for you simple children of the conveyor belt.

i remember doing breathing exercises and feeling so unusually good that people would look at me with confusion and envy.

truth is most people here have never known happiness and will never know it. when they see it in someone else, they don't have a real concept of what it is other then the genetic pre-linguistic mammelian emotional baseline. so their genes tell them to identify an emotion in someone else that they have never experienced themselves. a vague instinctual genetic memory that has never been realized in themselves.

might be different in india, where spirituality, meditation and nervous-system awareness is an accepted part of the culture and expressed through traditions.
